Fr. Graham Writes
Unwrapping our Faith Fr Graham writes…
“Why do we acknowledge our sins at the beginning of Mass?
When we come into God's presence we see who and what we are called to be because God is all good and holy. We are full of awe when we experience Him. However, we can be led to shame when we see God and hide. But we are called to be set free from our sins in Jesus' name and so we do not hide, we ask for God's mercy and help so that we can receive His healing mercy in the sacrament to follow. At the beginning of Mass we ask for forgiveness and so we still need to go to sacramental confession if we have serious (mortal sins) on our soul as we need to be restored to God's grace in the sacrament of confession.”
