Fr. Graham Writes

“It was tempting for the disciples to find a solution to the crowd's hunger that didn't involve them in any way. Disperse the crowd and forget about them. This is still a challenge. As we approach Refugee Week it seems easier to move people to somewhere else where they become someone else's problem.
Jesus had another solution. It might be a "lonely place" but He asked them to "give them something to eat yourselves".
As the body of Christ we have the greatest gift to give, namely the body of Christ in Holy Communion. We forget that Jesus is the greatest gift anyone can receive. With the gift of faith, each time we receive Holy Communion we become more united to Christ and He grows in us, until we are completely His. Just as the bread and wine are changed into the body and blood of Christ, in His humanity and divinity, body and soul; we are changed into the likeness of Jesus more and more, through the word and the Holy Spirit. Then, like Jesus, we give ourselves to others.
Happy Corpus Christi. I pray for you every day.
God bless you always.
Fr Graham
