PARISH GROUPS
Join Us - You are very welcome!
Our parish is wonderfully blessed to have a wide range of people, with many different interests, backgrounds and skills. We are an inclusive community and do our very best to reach out to those who would like to become more involved with parish activities.

As I mentioned in a homily recently, I have been reflecting on the last 6 years since being appointed as your parish priest. The lockdown and the COVID restrictions have focussed my attention in forming a Parish Prayer Formation & Mission Team. This group has been many years in the planning and making, with many starts and stops. It will be a sort of parish planning group that is based upon the themes of Prayer, Formation and Mission as reflected in the Diocesan Pastoral Plan. I have initially invited TEN parishioners from across the church communities in our parish who reflect some of the different areas of parish life that we are called to focus on. These areas could equally be described as prayer and worship, learning about the faith and living and putting that faith into action. As I said in my homily, a team to help us as a parish to "hasten to attain God's promises" and the "treasures of heaven" for all whom He is calling.

Children and adults are welcome to serve at Mass once they have made their first Holy Communion, and providing that they are w i l l i n g to commit to serving regularly especiall y when they are needed. Altar Servers assist the priest during mass and other special services. They are present on the altar and perform a number of duties ‣ they must be ready to serve at every opportunity ‣ take part in all services as fully as possible ‣ paying careful attention to everything that is being said or done ‣ joining in the prayers, responses and hymns Without the servers present during mass, especially at special occasions, many of the solemn processions would be less grand. They assist the priest and ensure that at each section of the mass, that the various books and sacred vessels are brought to the altar at the correct time. Servers at the 9am and 6pm masses work under the leadership of Cuthbert. Servers at the 11am at CTK work under the leadership of Mike. Servers who come to SP on a Sunday evening, may wish to serve during Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. All the teams combine for the larger community events, such as Christmas, Holy Week, and the annual First Communion mass.

Join us for Divine Mercy - A beautiful devotion given to us by our Lord Jesus through St Faustina. Thursday's : 8:15pm - St Peter's Shoreham Friday: 10:00am - St Peter's Shoreham St Faustina writes: “I demand from you deeds of mercy, you must not shrink from this or try to excuse or absolve yourself from it. I give you three ways of exercising mercy, the first by deed, the second by word, and the third by prayer, . In these three degrees are contained the fullness of mercy, and it is an unquestionable proof of love for Me. By these means a soul glorifies and pays reverence to My mercy.” (Diary of Saint Faustina 742.)
