Fr. Graham Writes:
“A feeling of expectancy had grown among the people...' Can you remember the excitement and anticipation of being a child at Christmas? The nerve tingling, giggling excitement? I think it is important that we do. When was the last time we experienced this before settling down to our daily prayer or journeying to Mass? The anticipation of meeting Jesus and being made aware of our heavenly Father's presence. The tingling of the Holy Spirit's power. The Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus after His Baptism (according to Luke) while He was praying! The voice of the Father spoke out loud for all to hear. 'You are my Son'. The prophet Isaiah tells of God speaking to the heart of Jerusalem, the central place of worship for the people of God. God speaks to our heart in the centre of our being when we pray or meet Him. We have already become His child in baptism and He, Our Father - why else would we say that prayer? This was made possible through our baptism which was made holy by the baptism of Jesus. Expect great things in prayer, confession and Mass. Expect spiritual revelation from God. Expect the unexpected.
With my daily prayers for you all at the end of the Christmas season. God bless you always. Fr Graham”
