Fr. Graham Writes: 21st May 2023
We belong to God and we are made for heaven where Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father surrounded by His Angels and saints. Jesus has taken our humanity into heaven, and so will we when the day of resurrection comes and all will be made new.
We can say these words in the Creed and believe them, but they are difficult for us to imagine or comprehend. How can we when these realities are beyond our intellect and only perceived by faith? We are talking about heavenly and spiritual things. We need the Holy Spirit to lead us into all Truth to begin to understand and see.
Jesus tells the Church, manifested in the apostles and disciples with Mary, to wait and pray for the Holy Spirit. So, we pray. We ask for our journey to find its completion in heaven guided by the Holy Spirit. What we long for is eternal life with God. Eternal life is to know the "one true God" and Jesus Christ "whom (He) has sent". The path is full of trials. temptations and even suffering. Any other path is not one trodden by Jesus. It is the guarantee that we are on the narrow path to glory, the glory shared by the Father and the Son. Jesus is praying for us still for we do not belong to the world, we belong to Him.
With my pray for you all.
God bless you,
Fr Graham
