Fr. Graham Writes 20th November 2022
If Jesus is King, where is His throne?
It is tempting to say, "Heaven". Of course, this is true but heaven is where the Kingdom of God is, and the kingdom of God is wherever Jesus is for He said, "the Kingdom of God is very near to you".
When Jesus is crucified, Pilate inscribed His "crime" above His head as "This is the King of the Jews". Jesus is no less God on the cross as He is in Heaven. So, if heaven is His throne, then the cross must be His footstool. When "the people stayed there before the cross, watching Jesus", they were before Him on His throne. Jesus reigns from the cross.
His power comes from humility.
(A model for all leaders and rulers). In humility He accepts death, though innocent, for us and He has "taken us out of the power of darkness and created a place for us " in His Kingdom where we shall reign with Him.
The Kingdom of God is still breaking in, you can see it wherever Jesus is on His cross, for there He is on His throne.
With my prayer for you all in this last week of the Christian year.
God bless you.
Fr Graham
