Fr. Graham Writes: 15th January 2023
We ask God at Mass this Sunday for “peace in our times” (opening prayer). What sort of peace? There cannot be peace without justice. Jesus is our justice and God is just. It is “right and just” to give God thanks. On the cross we see the justice of God laid upon the shoulders of the “Lamb of God”. Even though John points the Lamb of God out from the crowd, John says twice “I did not know Him (Jesus) myself”. Unless we know Jesus we are unable to receive the peace that He brings about on the cross and in the tomb of resurrection.
To know Jesus and to love Jesus - this is our task and joy. The more we know Him, and the truth of who He is, the more we receive and become witnesses of peace. Not just an absence of war or a temporary cease fire but a peace the world cannot give. May Christ the Prince of Peace bring peace to us all through the prayers of Our Lady, the Queen of Peace.
God bless you all. With my daily prayer for you.
Fr Graham
