Fr. Graham Writes: 24th April 2022
“What a wonderful start to Easter! Beautiful celebrations of the Triduum, joyful Easter Masses, Baptisms, Confirmations, full churches and the beginning of the Diocesan Mission (Invited II). The first week is particularly special to us as Graham (from CTK) is interviewed and gives a very humble explanation of his journey in faith through very difficult circumstances. (Watch here, via the Diocesan website).
How important it is to encourage one another in faith by sharing how Jesus has shown His love and mercy to us. Graham's talk answers many questions about faith, suffering, prayer and the reality of the very things we have just celebrated at Easter in the sacraments. Graham says that he came closer to Christ through suffering, it was a door that only he could open. Jesus stands and waits for us to open the door and come close to Him. When we have the courage and humility to do so He floods us with His Mercy - Divine Mercy, for He is the "God of everlasting mercy". We then begin the journey to "grasp and understand" what this means for us until we fully understand and see God face to face. This gift of Divine Mercy is a fruit of the resurrection of Jesus and the action of the Holy Spirit in confession. It shines as rays of light from the wounded heart of Jesus, the same wound that Thomas touches and we touch in the Mass. With my prayers for you all each day and especially on this Divine Mercy Sunday.
God bless you always.
Fr Graham”
