Fr. Graham Writes: 17th November 2024
The whole of creation since the beginning of time has been yearning for the first coming of Christ in humility and poverty and still now for His return in glory at the end of time. Not only do we see dimly now as through opaque glass but we forget the purpose of creation and it's creator. God is the creator of all things and in Jesus He has united us to Himself and restored us to His company. The natural and supernatural laws are made by Him and the commandments given by Him. We forget our purpose: to know and love Him.
There will come a time when He will come to judge the living and the dead and this will be preceded by tribulation, distress and great signs from heaven. As this time comes closer, the world increases in arrogance and ignorance.
The laws of earth will attempt to overturn the laws of God and the people of God are called to stand firm in the truth with our eyes fixed on heaven and eternity. It is no wonder that the Catechism describes our role as "unique" as we seek first the kingdom of God and being faithful to God.
"In the midst of all the peoples on earth, there is one people that is like no other. It is subject to no one but God alone. It is supposed to be like salt, which adds flavour; like yeast, which permeates everything; like light, which drives away the darkness. Anyone who belongs to the People of God must count on coming into conflict with people who deny God's existence and disregard his commandments. In the freedom of the children of God, however, we have nothing to fear, not even death."

With my prayer for you and especially those who are sick.
God bless you
