Fr. Graham Writes: 16th June 2024
God's ways are not our ways.
The majestic and strong cedar tree can live for hundreds of years and grow to 120 feet tall. It is no wonder it was often used in the construction of important buildings like the Temple. The Lord describes to the prophet Ezekiel that God will take the smallest, weakest and newest branch from the top of the cedar tree and plant it higher on the mountain of God where the new Temple to worship God is being built in heaven.
This is how God works.
He takes the smallest seed and places all His trust in it to watch it grow.
He scatters seeds generously and waits patiently for them to bear fruit even in the most inhospitable of places.
This weekend we are throwing seeds of the Gospel and seeing what God will do. Who will come to our Divine Mercy Mission weekend? Who will hear the message of Jesus for the first time? Who will deepen in faith?
The message of Saint Faustina of Jesus' "Divine Mercy Living in my Soul" is for us and the whole world, today. In her diary she wrote: “The Lord said to me, ‘The loss of each soul plunges Me into mortal sadness. You always console Me when you pray for sinners. The prayer most pleasing to Me is prayer for the conversion of sinners. Know, My daughter, that this prayer is always heard and answered.’ " (Diary No. 1397).
We are weak, small, fragile and in need of God's Mercy. We are all sinners but God's Mercy can form us into saints to worship Him in Heaven. This is how God works.
With my prayer for you all with the intercession of St Michael.
God bless you.
Fr Graham
